Black Rock Mountain Denver Steak
Our Black Rock Mountain Denver Steak is a cracking little cut with plenty going for it – naturally tender, full of beefy flavour and carrying some really impressive marbling.
Cut from the chuck, the Denver comes from a particularly tender muscle that does very little work. Once carefully separated and trimmed, you’re left with a steak that combines the big flavour you’d expect from the chuck with a tenderness more commonly associated with the premium steak cuts.
From our Black Rock Mountain heritage Angus and Hereford beef, these Denver Steaks benefit from the quality and character of traditional grass-fed beef. Look closely and you’ll see the fine seams of intramuscular fat running through the meat, helping keep the steak juicy and adding plenty of flavour as it cooks.
Denver Steak loves high heat and a fast cook. Get the pan, grill or barbecue seriously hot, build a good crust on the outside and keep the centre pink. Give it a decent rest before slicing across the grain.
If you’ve never tried a Denver before, this is one of those lesser-known butcher’s cuts that’s well worth discovering. Proper steak, great marbling and loads of flavour.

This is ‘Black Rock Mountain’ Heritage Angus and Hereford Beef from the foothills of Black Rock Mountain, Ireland. To put this quite simply, this is superior, hand selected beef from an area locally known as “The Model County” famous for its nutrient rich soil and temperate climate, ideally suited to grazing and the production of high quality, traditional grass fed beef.
